Managing Partner

JOHN ENI-UWUBAME

Mr. John Eni-Uwubame was called to the Nigerian Bar in November 1988. He attended the prestigious University of Ibadan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 1987. Mr. Eni-Uwubame also attended the University of Lagos where he obtained a Master Degree in Law (LL.M) in 1991, with specialisation in Secured Credit transactions, Comparative Company Law and Practice, and Comparative Labour Relations. Mr. Eni-Uwubame first worked with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and subsequently with Layi Babatunde (SAN) & Co., a firm of Legal Practitioners in Lagos. He left in 1991 to co-found Mgbechi Edugie & Adeola. Mr. Eni-Uwubame was the Nigerian Representative for Immigration and Nationality Law of the International Bar Association (IBA), between 1993 and 2000. In 2001, Mr. Eni-Uwubame took a leave of absence from the firm to join the group of core investors who took over the management of the defunct Broad Bank of Nigeria Limited, as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of the restructured Bank, before its merger with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. He occupied this position until April 2004 when he left the services of the Bank to the United Kingdom, where in May 2005, he joined the services of Berkeleys Solicitors in Croydon, South London as a Consultant. In December 2008, he returned to ME & A JURIS as a Partner, and head of the Commercial Division of the firm. He is currently the managing partner.

MANNDRED ADOPHY

Manndred is an alumnus of the prestigious Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. On return to Nigeria, he had a brief stint in the Banking Sector where he worked for the now defunct Afribank Nigeria Plc. He proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1987 and was called to the Nigerian Bar a year later. He practices principally in Civil Law and was appointed a Notary Public in 2007.                                                                                                                                
His higher qualifications include a master’s degree in law (LLM) from the London Metropolitan University, where he majored in Comparative Business Law. He was enrolled as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 2005. He is a Member of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, having been called to the English Bar in 2017.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

He undertakes all forms of Civil Litigation locally and internationally. He is currently Head of Chambers of our correspondent firm in the United Kingdom.

FELIX NWANEGBO

Mr. Nwanegbo obtained his LL.B from Abia State University and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. 

Mr. Nwanegbo commenced his legal experience in his undergraduate days, where he was selected as part of the university’s Law Clinic Program; a program that availed law students the opportunity to gain firsthand legal experience, under the tutelage of supervising lecturers. The program has amongst other things, successfully led to the release of many indigent inmates from the Nigerian Correctional Service. 

Following his call to the Nigerian Bar, Mr. Nwanegbo first practiced with Abdullahi Aliyu & Co (SAN), before joining our team. He specializes in litigation, energy law, business advisory, as well as corporate and commercial law.

Mrs. Nosiri is a seasoned and an experienced legal practitioner with over twenty years working experience in the field of Commercial Law, Arbitration, Corporate Law, and Real Estate Law. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1996. Mrs. Nosiri has facilitated numerous Real Estate transactions, mortgage financing, financial consulting, venture capital funding, and documentation perfection. She has also been involved in ADR processes, Contract formation, Risk analysis and Review, and Negotiations. Mrs. Nosiri holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Edo State University, Ekpoma, a Forensic Practice certificate from Humber College Toronto, an Entrepreneur certificate from Bocconi University Italy, and an Arbitration certificate. She is an active member of the Lagos branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Nigeria.
FAMOUS OCHONOGOR
FAMOUS OCHONOGOR Senior Associate
Mr. Famous Ochonogor was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999. He graduated from the highly esteemed University of Ibadan in 1998, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree. Following his call to the Nigerian Bar in 1999, Mr. Ochonogor commenced legal practice at the firm of Baba Shola Rhodes (SAN), and subsequently the firms of Achukwu & Sani (SAN), Luke Aghanenu & Associates, as well as Legal Craft Associates. Mr. Ochonogor specialises in Maritime and Business Law. He is experienced in litigation and has obtained a plethora of judgments in cases bothering on shipping of goods, collusion of ships, as well as financial crimes, amongst others. He currently heads our Maritime & Admiralty Department.
KENNETH IRABOR
KENNETH IRABORSenior Associate
Mr. Kenneth Irabor was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1998. He obtained his LL.B and LL.M degrees from the University of Lagos in 1996 and 2000 respectively. Following his call to the Nigerian Bar, Mr. Irabor worked as an officer in the Bayelsa State Internal Revenue Service, and subsequently worked with Creek Ventures, a onetime Tax Consultant to the Bayelsa State Government. Mr. Irabor also served as the Company Secretary to Summit Finance Company, an erstwhile Capital Market Operator. He thereafter worked briefly with Prof. Oluwole Akanle's Law Offices, before joining our team. Mr. Irabor has coauthored two strategic publications: 1. Burning Issues in the Administration of Justice - Essays in Honour of Justice Atinuke Ige J.C.A.'' (as she then was); and 2. The Challenges of Nigeria Commercial Law: Essays in Honour of Justice Umaru Abdullah (President, Court of Appeal).
EZE NJOKU
EZE NJOKU Senior Associate
Mr. Eze Njoku was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007. He graduated from Imo State University with Honours and exposed himself to legal practice in the Lagos Law firm of Oteh & Co. Mr. Njoku joined our team as an Associate in 2009. He has since that time been a vital part of our Litigation Division, where he has made tremendous impact.

REJOICE NWAKAEGO EMEH Associate
Mrs. Emeh holds her LL.B from Abia State University, Uturu. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016. She specializes in corporate and commercial law.
